Hunter Land and Stevens Group is proud to help deliver the Hunter Valley Solar Foundry (HVSF) at Hunter Business Park – a project bringing world-leading solar innovation and major economic benefits to the Hunter. The launch event was held today at Hunter Business Park with The Hon. Minister Chris Bowen MP – Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy and Member for McMahon, The Hon. Meryl Swanson MP – Federal Member for Paterson (local member) and The Hon. Minister Yasmin Catley MP – NSW Minister for the Hunter and Member for Swansea in attendance.

Led by Sunman Group and solar pioneer Dr Zhengrong Shi, the Hunter Valley Solar Foundry will become Australia’s largest manufacturer of solar photovoltaic modules – and the only one in NSW – delivering world-leading products to residential, commercial and utility customers nationwide. Once operational, the advanced manufacturing facility will produce up to 500MW per year of Australian-made solar modules.

The project is backed by more than $170 million in government funding, including:

  • Up to $151m from ARENA under the Australian Government’s Solar Sunshot program
  • Up to $20m from the NSW Renewable Manufacturing Fund
  • What it means for the region:
    • +200 construction jobs
    • Up to 100 long-term roles
    • Local supply chain opportunities
    • Training pathways plus a First Nations recruitment strategy

Construction is expected to begin mid-2026, with production scheduled from late 2027.
